Custom Product Overview

The Custom products are designed for very specific applications.  Each of them has been formulated to meet a specific requirement.  Even though developed for a well-defined application, as the composite industry grows and changes, new uses are found for these epoxy formulations.

The resins and hardeners in the Custom Products group are identified with a four-digit number. The letter M precedes the number. All resin numbers begin with the number one and the hardeners begin with the number two. They are numbered sequentially by date of introduction. Combinations are described by the resin and hardener numbers separated by a slash. Refer to the Custom Product Selector for additional information.

Laminating Systems

Very long open time systems, thixotropic resins, toughened systems and products certified to ANSI/NSF Standard 61 for potable water applications are included in this group of products. See the Product Selector to choose the data sheets.

Adhesives

There are black, white and un-tinted epoxy adhesives as well as thixotroped toughened products for application with a roller or mechanical roller coater.  There is also a general purpose fast cure adhesive.  Refer to the Custom Adhesive page for additional information.

Barrier Coat

An abrasive resistance epoxy coating is available.  This thixotroped system can be applied up to 10 mils thick in one coat.  The black hardener and white resin ensure thorough mixing.  When properly applied and cured, this product is certified to ANSI.NSF Standard 61 for potable water applications.  Refer to the Technical Data Sheet for additional information.

Fire Retardant Systems

Included are two fire retardant resins that can be used with a couple of hardeners to control cure speed.  One resin is very low viscosity and can be used with resin infusion methods.  The other is a thixotroped resin that works well for hand wet out or use in an impregnating machine.  Refer to XR28A/226 and XR28A/237 for the low viscosity versions.  See the data sheets for XR29A/226 and XR29A/237 for the thixotroped products.
