PRO-SET® High-Temperature & Tooling Epoxies

PRO-SET® High-Temperature Epoxies are a two-part, high-performance system for synthetic composite tooling and part manufacturing. The PRO-SET® Low-Density Fairing Putty is formulated for filling and Fairing Composite structures in manufacturing and repair applications.

HIGH-TEMPERATURE EPOXIES

The PRO-SET® High-Temperature Epoxy system includes a Surface Coat Epoxy, Laminating Epoxy, and Infusion Epoxy. These epoxies can be used to surface molds and plugs when combined with PRO-SET low-density fairing paste. Their advanced chemistry makes them easy to use, reducing labor and delivering top-notch results. They blend quickly, spread easily, and exhibit minimal shrinkage. Composite parts can be demolded after 24-48 hours at room temperature, then are ready for a freestanding post-cure. With a proper post-cure, this system boasts a high Tg of up to 300°F (149°C), excellent temperature stability, and superior part cosmetics.

High-Temperature Infusion and Laminating Epoxies can be dyed upon request for a visual quality control (otherwise known as Quality Control Green or QC). The resin will be dyed yellow and the hardener will be dyed blue so, when properly metered and blended, a consistent shade of green is achieved.

Each High-Temperature resin and hardener combination has unique physical, mechanical, and thermal properties. See the Technical Data Sheets in the table below for details.

HIGH-TEMPERATURE RESINS

  • HTP-180 High-Temperature Infusion Resin
  • HTP-182 High-Temperature Laminating Resin
  • HTP-187 High-Temperature Surface Coat Resin

HIGH-TEMPERATURE HARDENERS

  • HTP-280 High-Temperature Infusion Hardener
  • HTP-284 Fast High-Temperature Laminating Hardener
  • HTP-286 Slow High-Temperature Laminating Hardener
  • HTP-288 High-Temperature Surface Coat Hardener

TOOLING EPOXIES

PRO-SET® TLG-625 Low-Density Fairing Putty is specifically formulated for filling and fairing composite structures in manufacturing and repair applications. It can be applied in thicknesses up to ½” (12 mm) without slumping or sagging. Its shear-thinning characteristic allows for excellent featheredge application. Once cured, the putty is easy to sand, and the filler blend helps minimize airborne dust during the sanding process.

See the Technical Data Sheets in the table below for the Low-Density Fairing Putty’s physical, mechanical, and thermal property details.
